The Valle dei Mocheni or Bersntol (Valle del Fersina) is a small area of wilderness and enchantment. Its inhabitants are a community of German origin who still today preserve, study and protect their language, culture and traditions. The mining activity of the 16th century has left its indelible marks on the landscape as well as in the folk memory of the valley, and its history is recounted along a dedicated route featuring two museum sites in Palù del Fersina. The recesses of the Gruab va Hardimbl Mine-museum bear witness to the hardships of the German miners who dug copper from this mountain for centuries. The S’PèrgMandlHaus Museum on the other hand, describes their work and relationship with the local population. An unmissable journey into the past!
